Package: manedit
Version: 0.6.1-1
Severity: normal

*** Please type your report below this line ***
i gave a report on the fact that /usr/share/man is not
in the gui preference settings. I discovered this
situation that running manview from an xterm and been
given the su cmd, manview works accordingly- but in
this situation with the /usr/share/man set.

I purged manedit and delete ~/.maneditrc for root and
normal user. No manpath settings were manually
changed/modified.

I reinstalled manedit; I entered a root Xlogin (root
in gui no su in xterm). I then tested manview and it
doesn't work. I entered manview in X under normal
user, and it same result. Doesn't work means I tried a
manpage string and no result in the yellow zone box.

It only worked so far at this point as said inthe
first paragraph-- The other instance I can get a
result is running manview from an xterm box as normal
user and instead seeing the manpage in the yellow zone
box, I get the manpage result in the xterm box.

The manedit package has been removed from Debian so we are closing
the bugs that were still opened against it.

For more information about this package's removal, read
http://bugs.debian.org/515844 . That bug might give the reasons why
this package was removed, and suggestions of possible replacements.

Don't hesitate to reply to this mail if you have any question.

Thank you for your contribution to Debian.

Kind regards,
