Package: gimp
Version: 2.6.5-1
Severity: important

Gimp has become all but unusable - the toolbox window (and the layer window
when it was shown) sit in front of the main window, blocking access to main
functions - it gets worse when the main window is maximised.

Clicking the 'x' to close the toolbox window *also* closes the main window!
I get no output on the terminal, even with stack-trace mode:

$ gimp --stack-trace-mode=always  ~/Desktop/Screenshot.png

$

The only way I've been able to use gimp in maximised mode is by putting the
toolbox window *on a separate workspace* which is, frankly, bizarre.

The toolbox window still gets in the way with gimp in fullscreen mode.

Thankfully, a right click on an image brings up a usable menu, as before.

You can change the hints for the toolbox & dock windows in Preferences,
but the default isn't going to change since it follows more closely what
new users expect. Additionally, the toolbox and windows get grouped with
the image window, so there aren't separate entries in the tasklist for
each of them, and the docks get raised when an image window gets raised.
You can always move around & resize the toolbox & docks.
