No matter what image I try to display using fbview, it fails. The screen
flashes black for a few instants, as if switching over to a new VC to
display the image, but then goes back to the prompt showing the error
message:

The ppmtofb package has been removed from Debian so we are closing
the bugs that were still opened against it.
For more information about this package's removal, read

this package was removed, and suggestions of possible replacements.
