Package: libgal2.0-common
Version: 1.99.10-1
Severity: normal
Tags: sid

Evolution uses parts of libgal especially by putting in
$HOME/.gconf/apps/evolution/general/%gconf.xml a reference to the
pixmaps for each category (so that custom categories can have their own
pixmaps, I presume).

But the path to eg. category_birthday_16.png has changed at least four
times in recent months, and it will probably keep changing since the
path is version-dependant:
/usr/share/gal-2.0/1.99.10/pixmaps/categories/category_birthday_16.png

So when switching to gal-2.0/1.99.11, I will lose all pixmaps in
evolution; when switching to gal-2.1/2.0.87654, I will lose them
for the 6789th time, and in the end will never use those since they are
almost never there.

My patch: copy all those damn pixmaps to $HOME, do a sed on the xml
preferences, and keep my own pixmaps where they do not move.

Your patch might be to use /usr/share/gal/pixmaps as a location, or more
cleverly /usr/share/pixmaps/gal/.

Sincerly
Jean-Christophe Dubacq
