Package: axel
Version: 2.4-1
Severity: normal

The axel manpage says the following:
Axel is a program that downloads a file from a FTP or HTTP server
through multiple connection, each connection downloads its own part of the file.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Problem is, that's not what happens when you pass the -n switch.

debian-IBMx3650:~# axel --verbose -S4 -n 4 -a
http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/5.0.1/amd64/iso-cd/debian-501-amd64-netinst.iso

As you can see above, it does divide it into 4 chunks. But the other
chunks (or sessions) never start. Or maybe the progress bar is
misleading and doesn't update properly.

Hadn't hoped that cdimage on Debian server was restricted to a single
connection.
Better should have done some more testing.
axel works perfect with a different link.

Closing the bug report.
