is there a tarball for vnc4server? there seems to be
little to hint how
one can make use of vncpasswd-- I've done 3 other vnc
servers (tightvnc,
realvnc) successfully but I'm curious to see how well
vnc4 performs-- however
this is due part of the fact that I have found it to
be missing a hint
or two as what to setup and how vnc4 listens.

I seemed to have not found the site for vnc4server on
the net so I hope
this doesn't sound too intrusive.
The .so module that can be included on a Module line
in X's config and
the mentioning of /root/.vnc/passwd?

man Xvnc contradicts the theory I thought that Xvnc
runs separately from
using the /etc/X11/XF86Config file.

my Xvnc server instantiates when I'm using a vncviewer
but I'm asked for
a password that I haven't set anywhere.

Should I set up to use -passwordFile in inetd.conf for
the Xvnc command?

Tarball?

It works exactly as the other ones.

read /usr/share/doc/vnc4server/README.Debian.

The simplest way is to run the command vnc4server and
you are up and running.
