Package: gnus
Version: 5.10.6-6
Severity: important

When I try to do pretty much anything in gnus (like press 'g' in the
Group buffer), I'm getting the error:

  Adding new name: too many links,
/home/nelson/.Maildir/INBOX.lists.debian-bugs-dist/.nnmaildir/num/:,
/home/nelson/.Maildir/INBOX.lists.debian-bugs-dist/.nnmaildir/num/7d00

Not really surprising, given:

  $ ls /home/nelson/.Maildir/INBOX.lists.debian-bugs-dist/.nnmaildir/num/ | wc
-l
  32000

However, I use expiry on that group and the number of messages currently
there is not excessive:

  $ ls /home/nelson/.Maildir/INBOX.lists.debian-bugs-dist/.nnmaildir/nov/ | wc
-l
  6145

debian-bugs-dist is a very busy list and since nnmaildir apparently
doesn't do anything to clean up after itself, it exhausts the number of
links it can create. gnus is now rendered unusable for me.

I also changed my gnus setup to avoid nnmaildir altogether, so I can't
test this one either.  Closing...
