For various reasons I'd like to use 2.6.19 with Etch on this machine;
loop-aes FTBFS, however (this is mentioned in the upstream README for
3.1e as well). Could you either upload 3.1e to experimental (or
unstable, though I don't know if that is a good idea right now),
or add a note in README.Debian of how to roll your own updated
version?

The packaging has changed since 3.1d and has became
a lot more regular. I think the need to document is
not given anymore.

It is much like updating any other "normal" package now.
I'm closing this bug, but please feel free to let me 
know if there is documentation you feel is missing.
