Package: host
Version: 20000331-1
Severity: important

the host command is querying the /etc/hosts file (probably through the
nsswitch.conf file) when it should not be doing so, according to the
specification for the host command. As the release notes state:

"Some vendors supply resolver libraries with configurable
lookup strategies for gethostbyname/gethostbyaddr, e.g. to
consult DNS, NIS, /etc/hosts, or other databases, in specific
order. Such libraries are to be avoided when linking host.
It is meant to query the DNS and DNS only."

This problem broke some scripts of mine :(
