I would like the archive maintainers to remove Nessus from Debian. Upstream's
is no longer updating the 2.2.x release (which is Open Source) but is more
focused in the 3.x/4.x releases (closed-source).
The OpenVAS fork provides an equivalent tool. However, since OpenVAS is not a
drop in replacement for Nessus there is no easy way to provide a migration
path through the package management system.
I'm also no longer interested in updating these packages. And do not foresee
an update to 2.2.11 (upstream's latest release update, from march 2008).
