Package: nessus-plugins
Version: 1.0.10-2
Severity: normal

nessus (unstable and experimental) is affected by this. ping_host
(tested more ICMP pings) does not timeout. Makes it impossible to scan
class C networks or DNS xfer scans.

I tried looking for solutions on the nessus mail list, but found nothing
useful and have disabled pings to allow nmap to detect a down host.

You filled the bug http://bugs.debian.org/154896 in Debian BTS
against the package nessus-plugins. I'm closing it at *unstable*, but it will
remain open for older distributions.

For more information about this package's removal, read
http://bugs.debian.org/534502. That bug might give the reasons why
this package was removed and suggestions of possible replacements.

Don't hesitate to reply to this mail if you have any question.

Thank you for your contribution to Debian.
