Package: readahead-fedora
Version: 1.5.0-4
Severity: normal

After upgrading to 2.6.31, early-readahead fails to read early boot files.

...
Reading early boot files...Segmentation fault
 failed!
...

Other init scripts don't fail, e.g. later-readahead is successful.

syslog shows following message:
readahead[1222]: segfault at 0 ip b7f4f913 sp bf97213c error 4 in
libc-2.9.so[b7ed9000+158000]

I tried to profile again (and files in /var/lib/readahead/ got updated), didn't
make a difference.

Unfortunately, for some reason I wasn't able to produce a core dump.

Booting with stock Debian kernel 2.6.30 solves the problem.

I also observed that if early-readahead is started after udev, there is no
segmentation fault.

 readahead-fedora (1.5.0-6) unstable; urgency=low
 .
   The "before major changes" release.
 .
   * Fix segfault when blkid fails to resolve device id (Closes: #547159)
   * Change priority to extra, as libaudit0 is extra
   * Add some notes regarding bootcharts
   * Disable i18n on readahead as it consumes more time than real gain
   * Bootstrap the files lists without rebooting
   * Automatically trigger the collector on next boot after installation
