Severity: wishlist

Hello,

it would be nice, if those fincore() and fadvise() functions could be
split out to some perl-library. This would have multiple advantages:
1. They could be pre-compiled instead of the current demand-compilation
2. They could be used by other projects as well.

It would also be nice to have a more generic interface in the perl-lib
like the ability to pass open file descriptors (I'm not sure how this
works. Perhaps, Digest::MD5 gives an example how to do that) and to
export the POSIX_FADV_* constants.

This is most likely something to forward upstream :)

Thanks for your work & regards
