Package: acpid
Version: 1.0.10-2
Severity: important

The kernel now prefers a unified single module, acpi-cpufreq, for
dynamic cpu frequency scaling.

I have noticed that the acpi-cpufreq module is no more auto-loaded.

This leads to full CPU utilization at all times thus leading to more heat which
then
further leads to trip points and shuts off.
Fix is to manually add acpi-cpufreq in /etc/modules.

Was acpid loading the acpi-cpufreq module earlier ?
Is acpid supposed to load the acpi-cpufreq module ?

No.

No.

I'm sorry but you might want to look into some of the utilities that deal with
frequency changing, acpid is definitely the wrong tool for this.
