apt-cacher-ng cannot handle HTTP redirection, like 301 or 302 Found
status code.
apt previously had this bug too, but has been fixed as of Ubuntu Jaunty,

http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=79002
