I'm using icewm and wicd does not appear on the tray.
I think this bug is related to the one I submitted some time ago:

#538218: IceWM doesn't show tray icon

Thanks,
Victor.

It's indeed the same bug, why didn't you reopen that one?

I have 1.6.2.2-4~exp2 installed, which only difference with the version you're
reporting is the packages being split up.

I have icewm 1.3.5-2 installed, and run:

 $ Xephyr -ac :1 &
 $ DISPLAY=:1 icewm-session

From there, I started an xterm, and "wicd-client" shows the icon in the
traybar.

I'm reassigning this bug to icewm, once again, it must be something related to
your local config. Not being an icewm user myself, I'm unable to help, and I
should have a clean config. I can suggest removing your ~/.icewm (or the
like), but I'm sure Eduard can suggest you better.

David
