Package: phpix
Version: 2.0.2-4
Severity: minor

Hi,

When dealing with JPG images that come from digicams and that still have
EXIF information in the file, phpix generates thumbnails that also have
this same EXIF information.

For exemple, my cam generates JPGs that have 16-18Kb of EXIF information
(histogram & such), thus thumbs in phpix are around 20-22Kb.

Solution is to tell convert to strip this, this is done by adding
+profile \"*\"
to line 41 of functions.inc.

After this, I get thumbs that are circa 4Kb and should thus display much
quicker on my limited bandwidth.

Thanks,

Sebastien

You filled the bug http://bugs.debian.org/191918 in Debian BTS
against the package phpix. I'm closing it at *unstable*, but it will
remain open for older distributions.

For more information about this package's removal, read
http://bugs.debian.org/558175. That bug might give the reasons why
this package was removed and suggestions of possible replacements.

Don't hesitate to reply to this mail if you have any question.

Thank you for your contribution to Debian.
