Package: hpoj
Version: 0.91-14
Severity: normal

[sorry for my bad english]
After scanning with xsane (0.996-1 from stable), i'm unable to print until
        /etc/init.d/hpoj restart
(so, job in queue start to print, instead stay in queue without error message)

In syslog those message repeat every 30s until restart hpoj
  OfficeJet_G55?serial=[serial number inside]: prnt/backend/hp.c 675:
INFO: open device failed; will retry in 30 seconds...

ii sane-utils 1.0.19-23 API library for scanners -- utilities
ii xsane 0.996-1 featureful graphical frontend for SANE

I'm not remenber when the trouble start, maybe since this summer after an
update.
I've found the link between hpoj & xsane few days before this post

The G55 use usb port, but i think there nothing commong with #534350.
without using scanner mode, printing work perfectly on localhost, and with
other
lenny machine on the lan.

You filled the bug http://bugs.debian.org/561916 in Debian BTS
against the package hpoj. I'm closing it at *unstable*, but it will
remain open for older distributions.

For more information about this package's removal, read
http://bugs.debian.org/562800. That bug might give the reasons why
this package was removed and suggestions of possible replacements.

Don't hesitate to reply to this mail if you have any question.

Thank you for your contribution to Debian.
