Package: jackd
Version: 0.103.0-5
Severity: wishlist
It would help (and perhaps be more Debian-compliant), if the binary tools
included in the jackd package, were in a separate package. The name
"jack-tools" is already taken, so perhaps "jackd-tools".
In particular, those which would be nice to have in a separate package are:
usr/bin/jack_monitor_client
/usr/bin/jack_midisine
/usr/bin/jack_connect
/usr/bin/jack_bufsize
/usr/bin/jack_disconnect
/usr/bin/jack_midiseq
/usr/bin/jack_simple_client
/usr/bin/jack_load
/usr/bin/jack_unload
/usr/bin/jack_showtime
/usr/bin/jack_impulse_grabber
/usr/bin/jackrec
/usr/bin/jack_metro
/usr/bin/jack_freewheel
/usr/bin/jack_lsp
This would make it easier to build a package for jackdmp, which is sorely
needed.

Hi!
There's jackd2 (alias jackdmp) in experimental now. The idea is that
we'll only have one jackd version in Debian, which would mean jackd1 now
and jackd2 once we know it works.
I'm currently waiting for some connection fixes to hit jackd2's trunk.
Once applied and uploaded to Debian, I guess it could replace the jackd1
package completely.
If you like, feel free to test the jackd2 package in experimental and
report any errors you find.
Cheerio
