Package: tex-chess
Version: 1.2-2
Severity: wishlist

Hi, I read this in README.Debian:

tex-chess for Debian
--------------------

  * I have made a few changes to the style file to make it work with
LaTeX 2e. Hopefully it doesn't break anything that used to work,
especially when called using plain TeX.

however, if you install the chess package via TeX Live 5, you'll see that
others have already done the same thing, the result being version chaos.
I suggest that the TeX Live source is used for the Debian package instead
of the raw CTAN source. (Actually this should apply to _all_ TeX packages,
sigh.)

You filled the bug http://bugs.debian.org/148236 in Debian BTS
against the package tex-chess. I'm closing it at *unstable*, but it will
remain open for older distributions.

For more information about this package's removal, read
http://bugs.debian.org/561256. That bug might give the reasons why
this package was removed and suggestions of possible replacements.

Don't hesitate to reply to this mail if you have any question.

Thank you for your contribution to Debian.
