Package: sl-modem-daemon
Version: 2.9.9-1

When I use kppp or pppd I get no dial tone with kernel 2.4.x.
However, if I do as root:

/etc/init.d/sl-modem-daemon stop
modprobe -r slamr
/etc/init.d/sl-modem-daemon start

then it works (but I have to ajust the volume).

It works well for me with 2.6.7 but I have to use 2.4.27.
I'm using Debian Sarge updated at 16-july-2004 and I have a sis630 chipset.

It maybe an alsa-modem conflict?

Hi,

thank you for your bug report. We haven't heard back from you and I'm
not sure we still actively want to support a 2.4 kernel. I'm closing
this ticket.

Regards

Rolf Leggewie
