Package: gnome-desktop-environment
Version: 1:2.22.2~5
Severity: important
gnome-desktop-environment only "Suggests: gnome-audio", and so when debian
lenny is installed, the default
installation does not install gnome-audio, and has to be installed manually. Is
there a reason that gnome-audo
is not installed with gnome-desktop-environment and/or debian lenny
installation ?
I would expect that System Sounds (ie gnome-audio) would be installed by
default.

The reporter says that gnome-audio should be installed by ALSA or ESD, but
doesn't say why he believes so.
I don't think we should install it by default if nothing uses it, and if
anything uses it, that should depend on it, and not gnome-desktop-environment.
I'm thus closing this bug report. If you find applications that need or may
benefit from gnome-audio and they don't depend/recommend/suggest gnome-audio,
please file bug reports against them.
Cheers,
Emilio
