Package: tetex-bin
Version: 2.99.12.20050203-beta-1

Package: tetex-base
Version: 3.0-0.4

Trying to install additional fonts into the tetex-system according to the
manual given in /usr/share/doc/tetex-bin/Readme.Debian.gz does not work
because the map files are not distributed properly:

- new fonts under /usr/local/share/texmf/fonts
- map-files under /etc/tetex/map/dvips bzw. pdftex
- 10font.cfg-Dateien under /etc/tetex/updmap.d/
- texhash, update-updmap and updmap executed

result: the new fonts are listed
in /root/.texmf-var/fonts/map/dvips/updmap/psfonts_t1.map
but not in /var/lib/texmf/dvips/config/psfonts.map and not in
/var/lib/texmf/fonts/map/dvips/updmap/psfonts.map

updmap echoes at the end of its run

updmap: Map file links:
psfonts.map -> psfonts_t1.map
pdftex.map -> pdftex_dl14.map
dvipdfm.map -> dvipdfm_dl14.map

but these links are not the the correct map files
under /root/.texmf-var/fonts/map/dvips/updmap/

Installing the map files under /root/.texmf-var/fonts/map/dvips/updmap/...
manually into  /var/lib/texmf/dvips/config/...
and /var/lib/texmf/fonts/map/dvips/updmap/... results in a working
installation of the new fonts.

Yours sincerely

Tobias Hilbricht
