Package: dhcp
Version: 2.0-1
Severity: wishlist
Related packages: dhcp-client, dhcp-dns
In dhcp-client package, you can do a lot of customisation via
/etc/dhclient-script. I'd like to have the same with the dhcp server. So
it would call an external program when some event appear.
Example of use: instead of calling the dhcp-dns scripts (that updates the
dns server with leases from the dhcp database) from a cron job, call it
each time a new lease is registered (or modified) on the dhcp server.
It will use ressources with more intelligence, and the (master) dns
(server) is up to date all the time, it doesn't have to wait for a cron
job.
Maybe you can forward such a wish to isc.org ?

You filed the bug http://bugs.debian.org/46018 in Debian BTS
against the package dhcp. I'm closing it at *unstable*, but it will
remain open for older distributions.
For more information about this package's removal, read
http://bugs.debian.org/446386. That bug might give the reasons why
this package was removed and suggestions of possible replacements.
Don't hesitate to reply to this mail if you have any question.
Thank you for your contribution to Debian.
