Hello Per,
Upstream should include in this package a program xdg-su
to use in .desktop file that require root access, and would launch
either gksu/kdesu/etc. depending of the desktop environment.
This is currently achieved in Debian by using su-to-root and
depending on the menu package. However this makes .desktop file
Debian specific and they cannot be merged upstream.
The scritp su-to-root in the menu package could be used as inspiration.
