Hi.
I have this problem on a dual head monitor system (two separate X
screens, no Xinerama or
something like this):
When I add a notification area on the 2nd screen, and I start e.g.
pidgin or ekiga on that screen (which makes use of the notification
area), their icons are not added to it. They're not even added to any
notification areas on the 1st screen.
Starting those programs on the 1st screen works as expected and the
icons are added (only) on that screen.
I've already reported this upstream years ago
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=346162 ... and this is not
even my first report about that issue...
However,... upstream seems to be unable to ever fix this, so I thought
maybe the gnome maintainers of Debian might have an idea :-)
You can imagine that for applications like ekiga or pidgin, this issue
is not only annoying, but makes the programs nearly unusable.
