Package: xpdf
Severity: wishlist
Hi!
Given the vast amount of security vulnerabilities in xpdf and the fun
I always have in preparing security updates for a handful of xpdf code
copies, the crackful idea of porting xpdf itself to poppler came up
the other day. Since I ported kpdf to poppler two days ago, I just
thought that I might as well give it a try. :)
And after half an hour of small code changes it indeed worked. I
extracted the UI-only bits from the xpdf Debian package, added a
minimal Makefile, and tar'ed it up to
http://people.ubuntu.com/~pitti/packages/xpdf-poppler-3.0.1.tar.gz
Unpack and make should just work, provided you have poppler-dev and
lesstif2-dev installed.
We don't use xpdf in Ubuntu any more, so I'm not actually interested
in providing an actual build system and the like. So if you are not
interested in this at all, just feel free to close this bug. :)
Thanks for considering,
Martin

Somehow, skipped upload packages lacked atomatic bug closure.
I am closing this manually.
The bugs 576543 and 578892 were fixed by dropping patch at 3.02-3 but
real fix was at 3.02-9
