Package: gnumeric
Version: 1.10.8-1
Severity: wishlist

On the man page we see
   ADVANCED OPTIONS
      Gnumeric options...
          --debug=LEVEL
                 Enables some debugging functions.
                 Enables some dependency related debugging functions.

1. It should also say what the debug levels are! high, med, low? 1, 2, 3 ?

2. It doesn't even work in the first place:
$ gnumeric --debug=1 p.csv
Unknown option --debug=1
Run 'gnumeric --help' to see a full list of available command line options.
$ gnumeric --help ...
$ gnumeric --help-all ,,,|grep debug
  --gdk-debug=FLAGS Gdk debugging flags to set
  --gdk-no-debug=FLAGS Gdk debugging flags to unset
  --gtk-debug=FLAGS GTK+ debugging flags to set
  --gtk-no-debug=FLAGS GTK+ debugging flags to unset

So we see the manual page and program have evolved further and further apart.

This has been addressed upstream through
<http://git.gnome.org/browse/gnumeric/diff/?id=79a024bef805f2cee6b5981cd794f5a88142691a>
and is thus fixed as of 1.10.10.

Patches are welcome.
