Package: nvidia-kernel-dkms
Version: 195.36.31-3
Severity: normal
I have no idea what has changd, but since a few weeks the 2D performance
of my testing system is awful. Simply keeping a key pressed in a
gnome-terminal already makes the CPU usage (of one core) go bananas (on
process Xorg). Using mplayer is almost impossible, because if you do so
(from a gnome-terminal), the progress counter will make Xorg use a full
core again... Heck, even while I type this mail, the CPU usage of Xorg
rises to almost 100%, just because I'm a fast typer!
It's really awful.
I have already upgraded to the latest nVidia driver, but I'm not even
sure if the nVidia driver could be related. I haven't seen anything
weird in the logging, but if someone can point to me what to look for,
I'm very happy to provide any logging necessary....!
Please help.

This was a cairo bug, fixed in unstable now.
