Package: blender
Version: 2.34-1
Severity: important
On a mouse hover over most buttons in blender, when the tooltip should
pop up, blender hangs and no longer responds to input. Most of the
buttons have this problem, but a few don't. The window-type select
button is one that does. The button at the top of the screen which
usually says "SCE:Scene" doesn't.
When the problem occurs, the tooltip pops up as a translucent gray box
with a diagonal contrast offset. Usually I lose responsiveness to mouse
and keyboard inputs for a few seconds, then when I get them back, I can
interact with Gnome, or whatever windowing system I'm in, but blender
doesn't respond to input. I have to open a terminal and kill the process
to get it to go away. Running from a terminal with blender -d doesn't
seem to output anything interesting.
This problem makes blender surprisingly unsuable. It's harder than I
would have expected to do things quickly enough to keep tooltips from
showing up sooner or later.

Please let me know if I can provide any further information that would
be of help.
