Hi,
I am using Debian Testing (Squeeze) on my Desktop
and have the following problem:
When the "System restart required" icon in my tray pops up
and asks for a reboot, I click on "Restart now" and then
I get the following message box:
Reboot failed
Failed to request reboot, please shutdown manually
But then the system just reboots fine.
I tested it on Sid and I get the same message box
but there the reboot *does not* work.
I can reproduce it with these commands:
touch /var/run/reboot-required
touch /var/lib/update-notifier/dpkg-run-stamp
The only hint I found is a similar bug @ Launchpad
