Hi Jaakko,
the error you described is triggered, when you try to connect to
partimaged and you use a client which uses different network options.
The version in Debian is compiled with LOGIN and SSL support, both the
server and the client. If you start the server and you try to connect
with a client which does not have LOGIN support you get this error
message you described. This also means that you must not use the -L
switch for partimaged, if you use the partimage client provided by
Debian, as it is compiled with LOGIN support.
This behaviour is intended and not a bug.
Therefore I will close this bug.
