To solve issues like bug #614285, it would be great to have DKMS support for 
V4L drivers (DVB specifically). 

It seems that some work has ben done by Ubuntu Developer Martin Pitt, see:

you'll want to submit an RFP bug against wnpp since this is a request
for a new package. see http://www.debian.org/devel/wnpp/
