Package: enigmail
Version: 2:1.1.2-1
Severity: important
enigmail adds a symbolic link into /usr/lib/icedove/extensions/.
The first time (since last boot) that iceweasel is run, all is fine.
Once iceweasel is closed, it is impossible to relaunch it.
A workaround to still use it is either to:
- launch in safe mode with command
$ icedove -safe-mode
- close it
- relaunch it as usual and use enigmail
OR
- place link with actual directory, in my case:
replace
/usr/lib/icedove/extensions/{847b3a00-7ab1-11d4-8f02-006008948af5} link
by /usr/lib/xul-ext/enigmail/ directory.
As stated in this forum entry:
http://mozilla-enigmail.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=713
this may be related to (fixed) 551152 bug in mozilla core
XPCOM component:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=551152
I reported this bug on enigmail because this is the only icedove
extension that I installed as debian package (all other were xpi files).
I am somehow confused since there are some other links in
/usr/lib/icedove/extensions/ directory and icedove was fine with it.
These links are (last one concerns enigmail):
$ find /usr/lib/icedove/extensions/ -type l
/usr/lib/icedove/extensions/[email protected]
/usr/lib/icedove/extensions/{972ce4c6-7e08-4474-a285-3208198ce6fd}
/usr/lib/icedove/extensions/{847b3a00-7ab1-11d4-8f02-006008948af5}/defaults/preferences/000system.js
