Package: boinc-manager
Version: 6.2.18-1
Severity: minor
File: /usr/bin/boincmgr

Hello,
I noticed that some project no longer display graphics even if the button is
enabled. A simple list is:

seti@home: does not work
qmc@home: does not work
einstein@home: works

after having issued a "xhost +" from the users owning the X session.

I don't know if it's something related to the clients interaction with the
manager (ie a problem in the client) or something in the manager itself.

Thanks,
Sandro

Hello,

I personally came to the conclusion that this problem is independent from the Debian packaging of BOINC. It should instead be the upstream developers that clarify in some README how to prepare for their applications.

What you might be interested in to see is if the dynamic libraries are all available to you. You can find the application binary in /var/lib/boinc-client and then do "ldd <filename>" on it. Install what is missing and feel free to prepare a page on wiki.debian.org describing your solution so others can google for it.

Steffen
