Hi all,
I downloaded a tarball from egoboo.sourceforge.net . The file is a
gunzipped tarball.
$ wget
http://nchc.dl.sourceforge.net/project/egoboo/Linux%20Source%20Distro/2.8.1%20%28Stable%29/egoboo-2.8.1.tar.gz
I got the following error message after downloading it and trying to
decompress the same :-
gzip: stdin: invalid compressed data--crc error
tar: Child returned status 1
tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now
I changed combinations of mirror from nchc to jaist to whatever but
got the same tarball. I asked the developers and both the md5sum and
the SHA1sum matches. The devs. say either its because/due to the
tarballs being either generated in windows or due to some issue of
64-bitness but pretty vague at that.
You can find the whole discussion at
http://egoboo.sourceforge.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1304
can somebody look at that and tell me if something is wrong in my hand
or their hand.
