Package: gnome-desktop-environment
Version: 1:2.14.3.6
Severity: normal

Just as gnome-desktop-environment depends on epiphany-browser |
gnome-www-browser, please change the dependency on gnome-screensaver to
gnome-screensaver | xscreensaver. This will keep gnome-screensaver as the
default, while allowing users with xscreensaver installed to avoid installing
gnome-screensaver.

gnome-screensaver still has a number of problems compared to xscreensaver. In
particular it does not respect the standard screensaver mechanisms like
xscreensaver does; the gnome-screensaver developers seem to expect every
program that currently disables the screensaver to add additional code to try
the gnome-screensaver D-BUS interface. While gnome-screensaver might
eventually reach parity with xscreensaver, it currently seems reasonable to
allow xscreensaver as an alternative.
