Package: emacs21
Version: 21.4a-2
Severity: normal
If I edit a file that ends in .diff or .patch, the buffer is always read-only,
even if I switch into "text-mode", I still can't save potential changes to
the file. I don't see the reason why this should be enforced and even if it's
intentional, it probably shouldn't be the default, as editing patches seems
quite reasonable to me.
Cheers,
Moritz

Also, since I want the Debian Emacs package to match expected upstream
behavior when possible, the emacs21 package should stay as-is. Given
that, it's probably appropriate to close this bug.
Thanks
