If you select a new them or install a new extension and then click the "Restart
Icedove" button, the application does seem to close and reopen but the
processes are not killed. Sometimes the application does not restart but most
times you get a duplicate instance and this causes problems with mail retrieval
(for example a server may reject multiple concurrent connections for the same
account).
Regardless of whether the application appears to re-open or not the change is
not applied. That is if you have selected a new theme, the app will re-open
with the old theme being used.
