The man page of cal documents the options -M and -S, but they don't
appear to exist:
$ cal -M
usage: cal [-hjy] [[month] year]
cal [-hj] [-m month] [year]
ncal [-hJjpwy3MS] [-s country_code] [[month] year]
ncal [-hJeo] [year]
$ cal -S
usage: cal [-hjy] [[month] year]
cal [-hj] [-m month] [year]
ncal [-hJjpwy3MS] [-s country_code] [[month] year]
ncal [-hJeo] [year]

Please tell me where the man page says cal supports -M and -S. It shouldn't say
that and frankly I cannot see where it does.
If you want to use -S and -M with the cal style output, please use ncal -b
instead of cal.
