Lack of full-text searching (even on package names) makes it difficult
to search for some packages. Generally you don't need to search for a
package (as often) if you already know the full name, so this
requirement makes the search features less useful.

Example:
* Start synaptic
* Search for "firefox". No results found.
* Search for "mozilla-", you can page through the results and find it.
* Search for "mozilla-firefox", it will be found right away.

Expected behavior:
* It would be nice if substring searches worked. Failing that, it would
be useful if keywords were split up and indexed such that punctuation
and separator characters were treated as whitespace. (eg: decompose
"mozilla-firefox" into the keywords "mozilla" and "firefox")
* It would be a bonus if descriptions could be searched as well.
* It would be an added bonus if a search filter was applied to the
current list by default.

This is already implemented, you have it available
installing apt-xapian-index and libgtk2-perl.
