I have been seeing a bunch of these log message on my machine running ekeyd

(ignored)
Jun  1 00:10:39 kakapo ekeyd: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX: Too many key requests in a 
row. Resetting state machine and device.

Is this normal?
