Package: fso-frameworkd
Version: 0.8.5.1-1
Severity: normal
Hello,
thank you for packaging frameworkd.
I found out that some functionalities of frameworkd require python-rtc to be
installed:
mdbus -s org.freesmartphone.odeviced /org/freesmartphone/Device/RealTimeClock/0
org.freesmartphone.Device.RealTimeClock.GetWakeupTime
/org/freesmartphone/Device/RealTimeClock/0: GetWakeupTime failed:
org.freedesktop.DBus.Python.NameError
Or, from an application of mine:
** (zavai:2637): CRITICAL **: file clock.c: line 756: uncaught error: Traceback
(most recent call last):
File "/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.5/dbus/service.py", line 702, in _message_cb
retval = candidate_method(self, *args, **keywords)
File
"/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.5/framework/subsystems/odeviced/kernel26.py", line
452, in GetWakeupTime
( enabled, pending ), t = pyrtc.rtcReadAlarm()
NameError: global name 'pyrtc' is not defined
After installing python-rtc from the pkg-fso repository and restarting
frameworkd, it does not fail anymore:
# mdbus -s org.freesmartphone.odeviced
/org/freesmartphone/Device/RealTimeClock/0
org.freesmartphone.Device.RealTimeClock.GetWakeupTime
/org/freesmartphone/Device/RealTimeClock/0: GetWakeupTime -> 0
(although the alarm interface still doesn't seem to quite work, but that's
another issue)
Ciao,
Enrico

The fso-frameworkd in Debian unstable recommends python-rtc.
It has not been packaged for Debian, though.
IMHO it's not worth doing so, since the RealTimeClock should
now be handled by fso-deviced!
