Package: libgnomeui-0
Version: 2.24.5-2

Hi,

On my netbook, I'm running a minimal window manager. In order to run
a Gnome program, I need to install libgnomeui-0.

  $ sudo apt-get install --no-install-recommends libgnomeui-0
  [...]
  The following extra packages will be installed:
    gvfs gvfs-common gvfs-daemons gvfs-libs libart-2.0-2 libbonobo2-0
    libbonobo2-common libbonoboui2-0 libbonoboui2-common libgdu0 libgnome2-0
    libgnome2-common libgnomecanvas2-0 libgnomecanvas2-common libgnomeui-common
  [...]
  After this operation, 25.4 MB of additional disk space will be used.

Are you positive that for example gvfs-daemons is necessary just so
I can run a Gtk+ program that happens to link against libgnome.so.0?

The dependencies of libgnomeui-0 are as minimal as they can get.
gvfs btw is *not* pulled in by libgnomeui-0 but libgnome2-0
See #519263, why gvfs was added as a dependency there.
