Package: amsn
Version: 0.91-2

Hi, I don't know if this is the better way for reporting this bug, as. Many
people has reported random freezes while using amsn under the following
conditions:

Debian Linux Sid
Linux Kernel 2.6.x
Tcl/Tk 8.4.x
AMSN: Any version

I have been able to replay the problem using this configuration. Just start
amsn, and on the contact list window move the mouse wheel up and down
continuously. After a while, amsn will totally freeze, and you need to kill
the "wish" process.

I tried downloading tcl and tk 8.4.6 sources from their web page, and building
them myself. Then it worked perfectly. I got debian sources for tcl8.4 and
tk8.4 packages, and I noticed they were built using the --enable-threads
option to the configure script. I built again tcl/tk from the vanilla sources
using this option, and now it freezes!

Tried exactly the same (building with and without --enable-threads) on another
computer running gentoo linux with same linux kernel, and there were no
problems, no freezes...

So, there's something wrong in debian when building tcl/tk with
--enable-threads, but I just can't find what the exact problem is... The
problem doesn't happen if:

using tcl8.3 and tk8.3
using linux kernel 2.4.x
building tcl/tk without --enable-threads
