Less’s package description says:
Unlike the basic pager "more", it is capable of both backward and forward
navigation through a file.
But more can go backwards; at least, Debian more can. more(1) says:
b or ^B Skip backwards k screenfuls of text. Defaults to 1. Only
works with files, not pipes.
So it does allow “backward navigation through a file”.
Hence, I suggest removing the sentence above from the less package
description.
The equivalent sentence should also be removed from less(1). If you
want to add something about why less is better than more to the
package description, why not just say “Less has many more features
than the basic pager "more".”
