The sound of all SDL-Games is very bad.
I listen a lot of crackles!
To avoid this problem I downgraded to
1.2.7+1.2.8cvs20041007-5. With this release
everything works!

The package libsdl1.2debian-alsa 1.2.7+1.2.8cvs20041007-5.3
could also be the problem. I upgraded both at the same time
and I have to downgrade both at the same time! I also down-
graded this package to 1.2.7+1.2.8cvs20041007-5 !

Now the sound problem is fixed! But I don't want to hold
the old packages!

regards
Stefan Roters

Hello,

Thank you for your interest in improving Debian, and sorry to keep the
bug unattended for so long. There's now an effort to review the open
bugs related with SDL packages.

It seems that the previous maintainers considered the bug fixed/not
present anymore, and asked for confirmation many years ago. Since
nobody reported new problems, I think that it's safe to close the bug
report now.

Please reopen if you find related problems with recent versions of the
involved software.

Regards.
