Hi Evgeni,
a new upstream version 0.8~alpha2 is out and brings interesting new
features (namely per-sensor temperature limit and level strings like
"level auto"). The author says he named it alpha because he wants some
more testing because of the new features.
I packaged the new version based on your git packaging, there were only
minimal changes necessary. Note however I imported the new upstream
tarball instead of trying to get it from the new upstream git. It would
be cool if you could look if the new version can go into debian (maybe
only experimental as it is so alpha). I tested it with both an old-style
config file as well as a new "complex" config file for several days and
it all seams to work, although it is rather hard to debug a new-style
config file (I messed up one limit where the UPPER limit was lower than
the LOWER limit and didn't notice - cost me some hours).
My preliminary packaging of the new version can be found in the master,
pristine-tar and upstream branches of
http://git.hemio.de/git/thinkfan
(gitweb at http://git.hemio.de/gitweb/?p=thinkfan;a=summary).
Note that it doesn't build out of the box because there is no real
trailer line in debian/changelog; you need to add one in order to build
it.
