Since it is not clear to know which command to use to
reconfigre the system after it was installed, is it
possible to add to the GNOME desktop some item entry
in the main menu, to start these tool graphically, or
in a terminal ?
These tools means base-config, dpkg-reconfigure, etc.

Since the original bug reporter hasn't responded for some time now, I
think it's time to finally close this bug. After all we nowadays have *a
lot* of GUI configuration tools (Synaptic, gnome-control-center,
gpk-update-viewer, etc.) available.
If there is still something missing, please file a wishlist bug against
the package which, in your opinion, should contain the missing
functionality.
