Package: mc
Version: 1:4.6.2~pre1-3
Severity: wishlist

It would be nice if quickview mode worked for directories, compressed
files, images and so on, the same as mcview does. Since mcview doesn't
support directories, mc quickview mode of directories could just be a
normal directory listing.

"ls -l" output may have unexpected side effects for remote/unreachable
directories so I doubt it's such a good idea. (It could be really slow for
large directories so I think it may be challenging to implement without
introducing unwanted side effects)

We can not fix this on our side but you may always try your luck with
convincing upstream.

However it's not all too bad because there is "information" mode you can
activate with "Ctrl+x i" to show information about files/directories pretty
much like quick view mode show files contents.

Thank you for reporting the bug, which will now be closed. If you
have further comments please address them to [email protected],
and the maintainer will reopen the bug report if appropriate.
